->Select from Drop down Collation to 'utf8 general ci'
# 2 > Import SQL
Select the desired database on the left side of the page
Select your .sql file
If there are errors, see the next step
# 3 > Correct size errors (optional)
Sometimes, the SQL file can get amazingly huge, here are the steps to correct the issue.
If "max_allowed_packet" message appears: see mysql instructions below
In php.ini file:
Php.ini is located in Applications->MAMP->bin->yourPhpVersionFolder->conf->php.ini
Open it with a text editor
Look for the fields:
“post_max_size” and ”upload_max_filesize" and make sure they have a high enough value. (Not too big, as it can be dangerous). They have to be at least as high as the size of the file you are trying to upload.
Example: You have an SQL file that is 200 megs and the max uploading file size is 50 megs
The field will look like this in the php.ini file: “upload_max_filesize = 50M”
You have to edit the value like this: “upload_max_filesize = 201M”
Same principle goes for “post_max_size” or any other field that is too restrictive
If "max_allowed_packet" message appears: Copy the file named my-small.cnf located in Applications/MAMP/Library/support-files to
