Import your blog into UpdateCase.com

UpdateCase is a great CMS which separates out the marketing edit from the complex programming. This allows you to focus on your message and confidentally update your website while we manage the infrastructure.

One of the issues is moving content from your old website cms into UpdateCase.com. We have a step by step process so you can export your blog into UpdateCase.

Login to your PHPmyAdmin database and find the table which has your posts

Click on the table to move into that specific table

# 2 > Export

Click 'Export' on the top

  • Choose 'Custom'
  • Format: CSV
  • Dump All Rows
  • Save output to a file
  • Ensure columns are separated by ; OR ,
  • Check 'Put column names in first row'
  • Click GO

The file will download to your Downloads on your computer

# 3 > Optional - Open in LibreOFFICE

If you want to make any changes to your data before you import (this is optional)

Use LibreOffice to open the CSV file from your downloads

  • Ensure UTF8 is selected from above
  • Ensure you choose the delimiter (either ; OR ,) per the previous step when you exported

# 8 > Associate fields to UpdateCase

This screen allows you to associate your CSV columns to UpdateCase locations / elements.
-> if you scroll down you will see the subsequent rows that exist on the CSV

You can choose which columns in your CSV should go where on your UpdateCase website.
-> Click the drop down to see all the locations / elements that exist ON the page TEMPLATE you chose in the previous step

You can also assign the following:
-> the DATE when the blog was created
-> The language of the post
-> The page name / slug

NOTE: if any locations / elements are missing you can have us OR your professional web developer create new locations on your website.

After you have assigned all of the columns from the CSV to the locations in UpdateCase.com
-> Click IMPORT

# 9 > Complete

Allow some time for all the posts to be imported (depending on the number you have)

After it completes you are viewing the page 'Created today'
-> So you are only seeing what was uploaded today

If you notice any issues you can select all pages
-> And remove / and start again.

NOTE: if you want to return to 'pages created today' in the future you can find this from
